The easiest way to observe fish is of course in the water itself. On São Miguel, there are a variety of places where you can just enter the water with swimming goggles and enjoy the view of the underwater world in peace. We have uploaded some short videos to this page. We are not professional wildlife photographers, and the videos were filmed on a simple camera and pretty blurred, but they do show how easy it is to observe fish here. Directly on the beach, we have been able to see:
- moray eels
- octopuses,
- various starfish and sea urchins
- fire- and scorpionfish,
- and loads of other different fish.
